Alcantarilha / (Aqualand)

Alcantarilha is a former civil parish in the municipality of Silves, Portugal. In 2013, the parish merged into the new parish Alcantarilha e Pêra. With an area of 19.54 square kilometres (7.54 sq mi) the population of 2347 inhabitants (based on the 2001 census) is dispersed throughout the territory (there are 120 inhabitants per kilometre square of territory).

Aqualand Algarve is a Waterpark in Alcantarilha, accessible through the N125 road (that covers all of the Algarve). You can go by car but there is also a regular bus service to the park, from the major towns and resorts.

The park is very popular and of excellent quality, and is constantly being updated with new facilities and slides to compete with the other waterparks in the Algarve.

Aqualand features a wide range of slides, pools and other attractions, from huge slides to child-friendly smaller slides. Among some of the children’s facilities there is a kid’s pool, mini-slides, mushroom showers, among others, all supervised so the parents can relax and know their children are safe.

The park is serviced with different snack bars and kiosks as well as large shaded areas and sun decks. There is also a shop that provides all kinds of basic items that a day in the sun requires, from sun creams to towels.
