Championship Algarve Golfing
Pinheiros Altos features a 27 hole champion- ship golf course, a spectacular clubhouse, bar, restaurant and a luxurious members lounge. The state-of-the-art Pinheiros Altos Golf Acad- emy and Pro Shop offers to golf lovers a range of the most prestigious brands.The course boasts three 9-hole groupings, each a par 36, with numerous ways of play- ing 18 sublime holes, depending on your level of experience.The original 18 holes were designed by therespected American architect Ronald Fream and the additional 9 holes created by the highly regarded Portuguese golf architect, Jorge Santana da Silva, opened in 2007. The 27 hole Championship Pinheiros Altos Golf is presented in three contrasting nine hole formats. Each nine holes is a PAR 36 and named:
– The Pines (Pinheiros)
– The Corks (Sobreiros)
– The Olives (Oliveiras)
All nine holes have their starting and finish- ing points in close proximity to the beautiful Pinheiros Altos Clubhouse. Each hole has four starting tees: the white and yellow tees represent the championship and medal tees
respectively for the men, the red and blue tees for the ladies. The firm, fast and testing greens, sown with Pentcross Bent and combined with the Ber- muda fairway grass, provide resilient and excellent surfaces on which to play golf and make Pinheiros Altos a must play course when visiting the Algarve.

San Lorenzo Golf Course has long been considered one the best golf courses in the world and it is renowned as one of the Europe’s most beautiful, demanding and entertaining courses.
Located in Quinta do Lago - less than a 10 minutes courtesy bus ride from the hotel - San Lorenzo Golf Course has become a grand showpiece for the Algarve, with its superbly manicured fairways, outstanding natural beauty, and tournament-ready conditions. The course, designed by the American golf architects Joseph Lee and Rocky Roquemore, is a combination of pristine presentation, stunning scenery and hole after hole of challenging golf.
Protected Algarve Nature Reserve
San Lorenzo Golf Course was opened in 1988 and takes advantage of wonderful topography on the Quinta do Lago estate, winding its way gently over undulating pine woodland. Situated partly within the boundaries of the Ria Formosa Estuary and Nature Reserve, San Lorenzo boasts fairways that run alongside saltwater marshes, freshwater lagoons and the cooling Atlantic Ocean. This protected environment also features towering pine woods that open up to spectacular ocean view and distant mountain backdrops; as well as offering a beautiful habitat for over 70 bird species, including herons, hoopoes, white storks, coots, black-winged stilts andthe rare purple gallinule.
The San Lorenzo Golf Course is laid out in a figure of eight and at the heart lies the San Lorenzo Clubhouse with a golf pro shop, comfortable changing facilities and welcoming bar and restaurant.
